Orion leaves from Thong Sala pier. If it is one of the bigger boats, we leave at the end of the Lomprayah pier at 9 am daily. If it is a speed boat, we meet in the Orion Office at 8.30 am – 8.45 am, and the boat departs from the park in front of the Orion office in Thong Sala.
You don’t have to worry about bringing your own towels and snorkelling equipment, all the towels you will need and pro masks and new snorkels are provided on the day trip to all our passengers. please take care of our equipment and take the masks and snorkels back to the designated area in the lower deck.
We try to encourage people to bring running shoes or something similar, although many people just do walk in sandals and flip-flops. Please note some of the trekking routes do require sensible footwear as some of the rocks and surfaces on the trekking part of the trip are not flat and lots of rugged terrain on the viewpoint and cave routes.
If you don’t state your special dietary needs, you will be given the regular buffet on the boat, which consists of a light breakfast of cereals, tea, coffee and fruit for breakfast, and a buffet of rice, red curry tofu, somtam, and chicken in breadcrumbs. Later in the afternoon, we have cheese sandwiches. Please state when booking if you require vegan or vegetarian food, or have allergies, and we can do our best to have special food made for you in a 4-tiered package with your name on it.
Yes, it is the same. On the speed boat, it won’t be a buffet, you will be given your personal lunch set, and depending on the day, this will be eaten on the boat, or on land. which consists of a light breakfast of cereals, tea, coffee and fruit for breakfast, and a buffet of rice, red curry tofu, somtam, and chicken in breadcrumbs. Orion does pick up from most places, and the timings are very different depending on your location. Some private villas are a little difficult to access as are some resorts, and we will give a very nearby point to meet from. We do NOT collect from Bottle Beach, (alternative point is Thong Naipan), and Had Tien or Had Yao on East Coast, (and alternative points can be given).
Yes, subject to weather conditions, Orion can cancel on the morning of the trip. If we do cancel, we will offer an alternative date or a full refund. We always put passenger and crew safety first at Phangan Boat Trips.
Unfortunately, we do not refund due to last-minute cancellations of guests as taxi cars have been arranged, and food has been cooked, however, an alternative date can be offered depending on personal circumstances.
Any of the boats can be chartered for a party, private trip, or airport transfer to Samui. Please just get in touch with your ideas, and we can put together an itinerary package and price.
The itinerary sometimes changes due to weather conditions, i.e. in December and January, and
also July and August, there are often big waves in the marine park, making it difficult to dock for
snorkelling or get into Koh Wao. In this case, Orion will change the plan slightly for the day.
